Q : What was your first impression when you got the doctor role?

相葉: Honestly I was like “me??” (laugh). All the actors must experienced to play the role that they never play before, but I think I was the opposite of a person who can be a doctor. But, when I see the personality of the role that I play as Hatano Takumi san , he’s a person who works with all his might, and I think it’s a new challange for me. He's really kind and gentle to the patients but also strict as a doctor, he has deep past as well. It would be great if I can perform those three different things. When I entered the crank in I thought this role is really deep, the role that needs serious feeling. This is the first time for me to play the role who has the wide range.

Q : You like the white uniform.

相葉: I wore it a lot in the late night TV show “A no Arashi” when we did stupid experiments, so I don’t deny that I like it (laugh). But this is my first time to wear the cool white uniform, it’s not for the stupid experiment but for the serious medical examination and surgery scene.

Q : What was the most tiring scene?

相葉: There is a scene where many doctors gathered in a conference, I think it’s a high point, I even feel nerves from now (laugh). The script for one scene is about 30 pages, is it a stage play? I thought (laugh). It was very tiring when we started the emergency surgery. It was very detailed and took very long time. We have to keep our energy because it was the scene which can’t be finished quickly. Because one day felt short when we have filming for the drama series so I must put my best in every scene.

Q : It must be so hard for you to memorize the medical terminology, how do you memorize them?

相葉: I speak them many times (laugh). I found many illness names and organ names that I didn’t know before, so I feel like I learn it from basic. Something like vertebral artery aneurysm or internal jugular, those are the brain blood vessel, I must memorize them and it’s hard for me, because I never heard it before. I’m still okay with the organs name like heart or liver, but when it comes to the blood vessel, very difficult. There is a thing which can correct the medical terminology for us, so I watch it while memorizing the words and think “Aaa something like that”

Q : We heard that Sakurai san gave you the stethoscope that he used in “Kamisama no Karute”.

相葉: I didn’t have it yet, he forgot it (laugh). There was a scene where I check the patient with the stethoscope, I feel more nerves than the patient (laugh). When I put the stethoscope at the wrong place, it has no meaning. But the real doctor said to me “it’s okay” so I thought it’s okay as well (laugh).

Q : So you also listen to the CD which contains heartbeat?

相葉: Yes, someone gave me that. That was the CD which was used by the doctors to learn, I listen it at home (laugh). I listen to it and it gave me weird feeling (laugh). There are many kinds of heartbeat depending on the patient’s illness but I don’t understand the detail differences (laugh). But when I listen to the patient’s heartbeat at filming I thought the CD is very useful (laugh). You’ll understand if you listen to the sound, I tried to listen my own heartbeat as well, it was awesome sound (laugh).

Q : In the relation to “Last Hope” if you feel down is there anyone that you want to meet to gain the hope again?

相葉: All of this filming crew gather together, it feels like I join one of the TV show by myself and become the cycle of that family, I don’t think I’ll feel down. Even though I feel down, I’ll make an adjustment for my own cycle. Perhaps I will feel “I can have a hope again if I meet this face”. Based on that, for all the people who watch this drama, let’s find a hope even when we feel down.

Q : When we interviewed Ohno san for “Kagi no Kakatta Heya” he said that he wants to become a specialist in opening the key after the filming finished, for Aiba san, do you think that you can do the same thing as your role?

相葉: (laugh) Takumi kun is a caring person. He cares about the other doctors, even though there are 10 doctors, he would care about them all. If the filming is over, I think it will be great if I can take care of other’s feeling (laugh).

Q : If Arashi members want you to do something, will you do that immediately?

相葉: Do something for them? That was bossy (laugh). If I say ‘I’ll buy juice for you guys” I think they hate it, (laugh). Oppositely, the members took care of my feeling recently, they gave me surprise for my birth day celebration when we held the concert in tokyo dome. I was so happy that the members celebrated it for me, and feel happier because all of the fans there also celebrated it. The members also wrote the message for me, it wasn’t whose message is that, but the words really hit me. Honestly I wanted to cry, but I planned to hold it, ee?? There was a rumor that I cried? Maybe my eyes were a little bit wet (laugh)
