“Do you want to try it?” Sho asked him happily, brought the suit to him. Jun took it and he looked up to Sho’s face, “I will try this tomorrow, I want to sleep now.”
“Okay,” Sho took the suit back, put them back on the hanger and approached Jun. Like what he did this morning, he leaned closer to Jun, tried to kiss him. But again, Jun moved his face from Sho, mumbled that he was too sleepy and need to sleep soon.
“Can I return to my apartment?” he asked all of sudden.
“What?! I thought you will sleep here,” Sho groaned disappointedly, “Is this because of Nino?”
“No Sho san, I think I can’t sleep here.”
“Why? You don’t like my bed?” Sho sighed, “I’ll buy the new one tomorrow, or we can buy together.”
“No, it wasn’t something like that, maybe it’s better for me to sleep at my apartment tonight,” Jun rose up from the bed and walked to the door.
“Jun, do you really want to marry me?” Sho offered the last question, but Jun only smiled weakly and didn’t answer. He brought his feet back to his apartment, maybe Nino already asleep, but when he almost reached the door, Nino opened it for him.
“I thought you would stay there,” Nino commented. Jun shook his head and slumped to the floor, his body needed for sleep but his eyes won’t listen. His head kept thinking about Ohno, since he left the tea plantation where he wished he could stay for all night.
“If you didn’t stop me, I already punched him,” Nino hissed, his face still showed Jun that he was so annoyed.
“Nino, he’s still my boss,” Jun murmured tiredly. He wiped his face and took a deep breath, “Did you tell Aiba that I agreed to marry him?”
“No,” Nino answered immediately. “J, you don’t love him, you lie to yourself and to your baby.” I didn’t tell Masaki because I heard that Ohno san is getting better these two months and if you can meet him regularly, perhaps he would back to normal,” Nino continued. He laid his body onto the floor, watched the ceiling, “Just tell him that you change your mind.”
“It’s not that simple,” Jun brought his hands to his big rounded stomach. He must explain about his pregnancy to Ohno and seeing Ohno’s condition now, he didn’t think he could do that. The artist wouldn’t understand properly.
***
Jun didn’t know how can he faced his days after what happened. All he could do now was to let it flows. He tired to think, tired to cry. He went to work like the other days. His seven month pregnancy belly prevented him to do many things, so he only did his task as the cashier. Sho treated him normally, brought him lunch as usual and talked about the light things, maybe Sho didn’t want to make him feel stressed. Not even once Sho mentioned about their plan to marry, Jun also pretended that everything was okay. He walked home after dark, alone that day. Sho said that he still needed to check few stocks and told him to go home earlier.
Nino was nowhere to be seen when he was home, so Jun made a glass of milk by himself and sat down on his bed. He stared to the scene outside the window, there still two months ahead until his baby born. He hoped there will be nothing wrong. He smiled imagining himself held the tiny baby in his arms. He forgot all of his worry feeling for a moment, stroked his belly softly, he still didn’t know whether he will have a baby girl or boy, but he hoped that the baby will take after Ohno and his talent.
Somebody knocked his door, Jun rose from his bed and slowly stepped towards it. He opened it to find Aiba stood there, with the tote bag which looked so heavy. Jun suddenly felt maybe there was something happened to Ohno again and the taller would drag him somewhere.
“Can I come in?” the man asked with his cheerful tone, Jun opened the door wider and let Aiba in.
“Aiba san, is there anything happens?”
“No,” he shook his head quickly, “I am here to visit you, here I bring you something,” Aiba handed him the bag. Jun peered inside it, there were many baby clothes with different colors, and he took the first one, a small blue T-shirt with the bear picture in front of it.
“Thank you,” Jun smiled to the man who shook his head again, “I wasn’t the one who bought them, it’s Ohno san.”
Jun’s hand almost dropped the bag, “Ohno san? Is he getting so much better already?” he questioned Aiba, who nodded with enthusiasm, “Do you want to meet him again?”
Jun was about to nod when he remembered Sho and the expensive wedding suit he had bought. He thought that it would be such a betrayal if he dared to meet Ohno again. Something that he kept as a secret from Sho. Besides, he didn’t want to cancel his plan to marry.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea,” Jun put the bag on his table but still hold the blue T-shirt, “Aiba san, I will get marry.”
“What?! With who?”
“Sakurai san, my boss.”
Aiba’s jaw fell open and he looked like someone who lost his ability to speak for few seconds, he coughed and tried to handle his shock, “What about your baby?”
“There’s nothing with my baby, Sho san would accept this,” Jun inserted the blue T-shirt to the bag and he continued, “Ohno san deserved someone better.”
“He only wants you Jun kun,” Aiba said, “I don’t have a right to forbid you to marry, but I hope you already think about it deeply and will never regret it,” he stepped forward and patted Jun’s shoulder.
“I’ll be very grateful if you can meet Ohno san again, even though I am just his manager but I already consider him as my own brother, good night Jun kun,” the tall man turned his body and walked to the door. Jun watched him disappeared and he managed to sleep faster tonight. Tomorrow was his check up schedule, he must be in good condition so the doctor wouldn’t scold him.
***
“I’ll go with you,” Sho insisted to accompany him to the doctor. Jun finally gave up and said yes which made Sho looked so happy. He closed his store earlier than usual and gripped Jun’s hand all the way.
“I already find the perfect day for our wedding,” Sho started, it’s been a while since the last time they talked about it, Jun nodded and let Sho continued, “It’s the end of November, the 26th exactly.”
“The end of autumn,” Jun commented, “My baby is about to born, the doctor predicted I’ll give a birth at the second week of December,” he smiled happily, he would meet his baby soon, it makes him so excited.
“That’s mean I will be the father two weeks after marrying you,” Sho squeezed his fingers and Jun couldn’t answer. It’s not Sho’s baby after all, so he wouldn’t mind if Sho didn’t want to be called ‘Papa’. They almost reach the hospital, Jun released his hand from Sho to check his watch, and he walked faster, left Sho behind him.
“I’ll be waiting here,” Sho told him, he chose the seat at the waiting room which was empty of people, Jun entered the room alone and let the doctor checked him up.
“You look tired,” the doctor commented, “Lack of sleep?”
“Yes, my baby is so active lately,” Jun answered, “He kicked me all night long.”
“Good sign,” the man gave him encourage smile, “I never see your husband accompanying you here, is he afraid?”
“No, he just….” Jun didn’t know how to continue so he let his sentence unfinished.
When the check up finished, Sho dragged him to a restaurant for dinner. Jun followed the man’s steps, became a loyal listener to Sho who talked about the wedding again. With the candle between them on the table, they should enjoy the romantic night for the first time since Jun agreed to marry. The candle light shook a bit due to the weak wind and Jun who felt a bit tired and sleepy saw a shadow. He didn’t know why his eyes suddenly tricked him. Sho’s face changed into Ohno, his black hair looked red and his fingers turned longer and thinner. Jun smiled to the figure, his hand moved to the fingers and holds it tight.
“Jun, I love you,” he found his right hand on Sho’s lips, no Ohno’s lips.
He felt the happiness bloom inside his heart, he leaned closer and whispered, “I love you too Satoshi kun.”
But when he managed to kiss the lips Ohno jerked and hit his face softly, “Jun, are you sleepy?” he can see Sho in front of him and he blinked confusedly, where is Ohno?
“Errr yes Sho kun,” Jun rubbed his face shyly. It was Sho who sat in front of him all the time, Ohno was just his hallucination, they finished the dinner in silent. Sho looked disappointed and sad, it makes Jun feel so guilty. Nino was absolutely right, he lied to himself and to his baby. He shouldn’t agree to marry Sho.
“Good night Jun,” Sho took him to his apartment, “If you feel doubt, just tell me, we still have time,” Sho said with a glimpse of sadness in every word.
“Sho san, I…”
“Think about it once again, I’ll be waiting,” Sho left him. Jun could only stand there with a thousand guilty feeling which stabbed his heart. He couldn’t do this to Sho, he owe the man too much. He approached his bed and flopped down. Nino wasn’t there but, he didn’t have any energy left to take his phone so he closed his eyes, hoped that tomorrow his head would be clearer and he could think properly.
The first thing that woke him up was the ring on his phone. Jun searched under his dirty clothes and found it.
“J I got new job.”
Nino’s voice heard so unclear, “Nino where are you?”
“I am working now, my new job is an assistant of wedding planner, cool isn’t it?”
“What?!” Jun couldn’t believe what he heard, wedding planner? Nino?
“I am so busy now, see you J, call me if you need something for your wedding,” Nino cut the line and Jun shook his head, Nino is full of surprise but still the best friend he has ever had.
Sho didn’t mention anything about the wedding planner, perhaps the man handle it by himself. Jun suddenly felt stupid, he didn’t even know where they would held the party or how many people Sho would invite, he didn’t want his friends to come, Nino already enough.
***
Aiba called him few times, asked him to visit Ohno. Jun should deny but in the end he found himself at the tea plantation again, with big umbrella in his right hand and a basket full of food in his other hand. Today was his day off. He told Sho that he wanted to go to the other town, Sho offered to accompany him but Jun denied it.
“Jun kun, here,” Aiba took the basket from his hand and guided him further to the garden like what he did before.
“He’s close to recovery,” Aiba gladly said to Jun.
“He paints under this pouring rain?” Jun looked up to the cloudy sky, the rain seemed reluctant to stop, kept wetting the earth since the morning.
“You’ll see,” Aiba helped him to walk and warned him to be careful. They reached the spot that Jun didn’t know yet, there was a gazebo right in the middle of the garden. Ohno was working with his brush, he wore a baseball hat with the simple T-shirt. Jun walked closer and saw the canvas, it looked like abstract painting for him.
“Ohno san,” Aiba approached the artist and talked in low voice, the understanding crossed Ohno’s face, he turned his head to Jun and smiled.
“You come again,” Ohno put down his brush and his palette. He stepped to Jun until they are close enough, Jun was so tempted to kiss the shorter again but he held himself.
“I bring you food this time,” Jun pointed to the basket in Aiba’s hand.
“You are fatter than the last time I met you,” Ohno said innocently, “But you look cute,” he continued, it makes Jun blushed hard.
“Thanks,” he whispered, Ohno took his hand and dragged him to the canvas, “I am so happy to see you again, Aiba chan said you are so busy, can I visit you sometimes?”
“Errrr,” Jun glanced to Aiba for a clue, the other only nodded, “Yes of course,” Jun smiled to the artist whose eyes turned bright and he looked normal for the first time.
“Ohno san, Jun kun will accompany you here, I still have something to do,” Aiba put the basket on the table, he waved good bye and both of them replied. Jun handled the awkwardness faster this time, he didn’t want to waste his time. He wanted to memorize Ohno’s face inside his head, maybe Sho wouldn’t permit him to visit Ohno anymore after they married, or Ohno will move to the other country side to cure his illness.
“Jun kun I like you,” Ohno suddenly said, “I felt that we already know each other for a long time,” the artist kept holding his hand, both of them sat at the farthest corner to avoid the rain, watched the rain drops.
“I like you too Satoshi kun,” Jun replied, he leaned to Ohno’s shoulder and a strange relax feeling hit his head. He would be able to handle everything, but he wished he could have Ohno for him personally. It was too late to cancel the marriage, he knew it, but he didn’t want to think about it now, all that matters is Ohno.
***
November finally came, bring the cool air to the earth. Jun who entered his nine months pregnancy spent his days just for work and take a rest. Sho was so busy with the wedding preparation, yes he would marry with his boss. Nino said that he would be his best man, even though Jun knows that his friend do it half heartedly.
The wedding would take place at the nearest church, Jun fit his suit for the first time and it was too small for his belly, Sho insisted to buy the new one, but he denied, maybe the tailor could fix it, he only need to wear it for a day.
Nino never left his side at the wedding day. Jun never expect that he felt sick today, his hands were sweaty, he hoped that the process would be fast so he can return to his bed and sleep as long as he wanted. He didn’t know how he felt when he and Nino crossed the church towards the altar, all he wanted was to disappear from here.
They were shocked when suddenly the door opened and somebody thundered in, Ohno ran inside, followed by Aiba behind him.
“Jun kun!” he yelled, everybody turned their head to Ohno who stood right in the middle of the room, between the door and the altar. Jun can’t believe what he saw, Ohno is here, on his wedding day. He looked at Sho, the other’s face can’t be predicted, he just smile weakly.
“You knew where your heart and your baby belong to,” Sho said, he released Jun’s hand slowly.
“Satoshi kun,” Jun who still confused and not sure what to do used his remaining energy to walk towards the artist, his stomach was so hurt and he collapse before he can reached Ohno. Something wetted his pants, his baby is going to born, two weeks faster than the doctor prediction.
“Jun kun!”
“J!”
Ohno, Nino, and Aiba ran to him, three pair of hands caught him and Jun couldn’t be happier to know that Ohno would witness his baby to born. He brought his hands to Ohno’s face,
“Your baby is going to born,” he whispered. He heard Nino called an ambulance with trembling voice and all the people who attended the wedding, which failed to happen because of him, started to mumbling like the bees. But Jun had no time to pay attention to them or to Sho who stayed at the altar, not even help carrying him to the ambulance.
“Jun kun, I am here for you,” he heard Ohno’s voice in his ear. He recovered, Jun thought, but he didn’t know what to answer, all he can feel was the pain in his stomach.

Chapter 9
Jun stared blankly to the white suit that Sho bought in the city this afternoon. His mind was not here at all, he only remembered Ohno. He heard what Sho said but couldn’t absorb the meaning of it. Chapter 9
“Do you want to try it?” Sho asked him happily, brought the suit to him. Jun took it and he looked up to Sho’s face, “I will try this tomorrow, I want to sleep now.”
